NOTD - H&M midnight passion!

I picked this nail polish up in H&M the other day and I actually love it!!

The colour is 'midnight passion' and for £2.99 whats not to love?? Two coats was needed to bring out the deep purple shade, it reminds me of a twilight/ vampire gothic colour!
I have even painted my toe nails to match :)

Microdermabrasion - THE answer to clear skin!

Me and my skin have a love/hate relationship sometimes it is fine just the odd blemish nothing a bit of concealer cant fix....but sometimes I get horrible spots espcially on my chin and I just feel uurrgg when I have spots, I would kill for flawless skin............

So last week I went for a Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion, this is a type of exfoliation and apprently is loved by celebs who regularly have this done. They recommend about 10 sessions every few weeks to get the maximum benefits but even after my first session all I can say is.....WOW I love my skin!!!

The treatment privides immediate visible results for ageing skin, lines and wrinkles, open pores, blackheads, pigmentation, blemish scars, acne scars, stretch marks and much much more!

The treatment involves a small 'pen-like' exfoliator which is used all over the face like a small vacuum, it didnt hurt, just felt like sandpaper rubbing my skin!

I paid 25 pound for one treatment and I am definately booking in for more before christmas, my skin has never felt so soft and smooth and it just 'glowed' friends even commented on how good my skin looked. Since I had my first treatment I havent had any spots and my skin is still silky smooth with much smaller pores and I even feel confident going out without make up (now that is a first for me!) The day after, my make up just glided on my skin and lasted alllllll day it looked perfect! Apprently Alex Curren has microdermabrasion before any big nights out as it helps her make up stay put!!

So girls if you are fed up with your skin give this a try I promise you flawless skin is within your reach...I shall keep you updated on my next session I cant wait to go again! Crystal Clear is available in a number of beauty salons check out http://www.crystalclear.co.uk/ for your nearest salon offering the treatment.

Have a gorgeous weekend!

Ins and Outs!

I love these posts and seeing as i've not blogged for a while thought would kick the week off with this!

Loving

  • MAC studio Tech foundation in NC35, love how easy this is to use and is perfect for putting in my bag for touch up during the day
  • Threading - I got my eyebrows threaded and I love it, why have I not done this sooner? My eyebrows are so much more defined and not a hair in sight!
  • MAC Penultimate eyeliner - this eyeliner is perfect for winging out your liner, it it like a thick black pen for your eyes so easy to draw on
  • Birthdays - the 2 week countdown to my birthday is on! I love birthdays and top of my present list is Coco Madamesoille, Victor and Rolf Flowerbomb and a few palettes from Benefit that I have had my eye on!
  • I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - still not won over by Jordan, why did she decide to go back on?? never a good career decision just look what happened when Jade Goody whent back on Big Brother its never gonna be a good idea! But I cant get enough of this programme haha!

Hating

  • Red Lipstick - I have been trying to find a red shade to suit me but I just cant seem to make any red suit my olive complexion any help please???
  • Sambuca - we have had a serious falling out after my hangover yesterday!
  • Migraines - urrgg I suffer with bad migraines and had a horrible one last week all day in pain not good!
  • ASOS - I have been a loyal customer to ASOS for years and years but last week I bought a sequin top for 60 quid (!) thinking it would be perfect for the xmas season to dress up jeans but when it arived the quality was horrible it looked like it cost a tenner from a market stall def not 60 quid! So i complained and the lovely people at ASOS have apologised and gived me my own discount code next time I order from them so hurray for a happy ending!

Freebie Alert!!

Just in case you havent noticed but this months Glamour Magazine (with Leighton Meester on the front) comes with a free nails Inc nail varnish worth ten quid!

There are 4 colours to choose from, I got Elizabeth Street, a gorgeous creamy light pink colour, which I thought would work well as a base to my usual french manicure! I loved the other colours too and was torn between this and a lovely hot pink colour but as I cant wear bright colours for my job (or nail varnish in general really but I always seem to get away with a french manicure!) I decided that I would get the most use out of Elizabeth Street!

So go grab yourself a hot new nail polish for only 2 quid! Let me know what colours you all get!!

Lollipop Loving....

No this isn't a reference to Lollipop26's blog (although I do love reading her blog!) but its my new MAC lipstick which I have fallen in love with, so introducing ........Lollipop Loving....
It is a glaze lipstick, it is actually quite similar to Maybellines Ambre Rose but this has more golden undertones and a nice golden glaze finish on your lips which can be seen from the photo below! I wore this last night and loved the look, perfect for complimenting your skintone and I think 'enhances' your glow due to the golden glaze effect!
I would of done a FOTD but I'm a hangover mess today :(
Although I also purchased Revlon Colourstay foundation after reading so many good reviews on it and have used it for the first time today and even though I am feeling a tad rough this foundation is looking ok! So I will see how it gets on with me during the week!

Top 7 budget buys!!!

I have seen this idea on a few blogs now and I love to see what fellow bargins fellow bloggers rate so I can decide if its worth a try! So here is my top 7 must have bargins.....

From left to right are:

  1. Maybelline Pulse perfection Mascara - this is amazing I cant believe how much it lengthens my lashes! After daily use for a good few months now this is still going strong this is definately my HG of mascaras!!
  2. This is a black eyeshadow with silver flecks in and is actually from H&M for about £2.99 and I love creating a smoky eye with this, I also have used it as a liner with a pale grey all over my lid then using a liner brush, line my upper and lower lash line, it creates a soft, sultry smoky eye that doesn't look too 'done'
  3. James Brown Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner - this is also my HG of shampoo and conditioner! I have the finest hair in the world and I love volume and lots of it when I go out! When I use this I can literally feel my hair becoming thicker when I lather it in it is amazing!
  4. Maybelline Colour Sensation Lipstick in Amber Rose - Since I got this it has never been off my lips!! This is the perfect colour for most skin tones it seems to brighten up my complexion as soon as I apply it!
  5. Barry M Dazzle Dust in 22 Black Gold - I love dazzle dusts! This one is also perfect for creating a smoky eye, it is blackest black with gold flecks in it and I tend to use it in the crease of my eye and along my lash line when I'm creating a strong bold smokey eye!
  6. Tresemee 24 hour Volume Hairspray - This holds my volume (when I eventually achieve it after lots of velco rollers!) and keeps the volume all night! I wish I could say the same for the other products in Treseme 24 hour volume line but I cant - I didnt rate the shampoo and conditioner very much - not much volume achieved!!
  7. Neutrogena Make Up Remover - Perfect for removing every last once of make up whilst being kind to your skin...perfect!!

If anyone else has there own top beauty bargins let me know so I can try them out hehe!!

A new skincare regime!

I have a love/hate relationship with my skin, sometimes it is spot free and glowing and othertimes it can be dull and spotty! i'm 23 for crying out loud surely it shouldn't be acting like its 16 any longer?!?!?
So last week it started acting up and I decided to try a new defence to deal with it! A few months ago I tried Garnier Pure Active range but I was not impressed I didnt notice any difference in my skin at all, I didnt like the smell of it and overall it just didnt perform well!

So here is my top 3 skin heros that I have worshipped this past week and have noticed an overall lift in my skin :) spots that I felt were going to 'appear' in the morning have not shown, or not been as red or noticable as usual, overall my skin has felt clean and refresher and therefore clearer hurray!!

So firstly I picked up the Neutrogena Visible Clear 2 in 1 wash/mask, I have read good things on a few blogs about this which is why it caught my eye in Boots, I love the consistency of this, it is clay based so can be used as a 5 minute mask once a week, which I did a few nights ago, and every morning and night have been using it as a face wash. My skin feels so clean after using this I love it!

Secondly any spots that I had or could feel surfacing I put a little bit of this cream on the area, it is oxy 10 spot treatment, and I think that this really does work, You only need a small amount otherwise it can dry your skin too much, but if used straight away on spots then I can usually catch it quick and prevent it from getting any worse!

And lastly before bed everynight I have been slapping this gem of a pot on my face! Yes Sudocrem the skin saviour!! I say only use it before bed as it leaves a slight white tinge on your face until it has all been absorbed in your skin, but this is amazing for your skin, it is antibacterial and is excellent for looking after your skin and reducing spots, redness and any other skin problem!

So I have put my good skin down to this regime! I really think that is has been doing my skin the world of good, so I intend to keep it up and hopefully perfect skin will be mine!!

Clothes Show Live 2009!

I have just booked my ticket for the clothes show live at the NEC in birmingham....good times!

It is actually a little birthday present to myself :) Its my birthday on monday 7th December, and every year I always book the day off work and spend lots of money shopping! So this year I thought I would take myself to the clothes show and indulge in all the beauty make overs, freebies and clothes galore!!
Unfortunately as its a monday all my friends and my mum are working so they cant come with me but i'm actually secretly relieved as I love to shop on my own (is that just me??), I can spend as long as I want deciding over which beauty products to get (believe me I can take a long time to decide which products I need to get....and then usually getting everything ha!) and I can go to whatever stall I want without feeling like I'm holding somebody up!

So the countdown is on for my birthday!!!

Is anybody else off to the clothes show??

Saturday means Shopping day!

Even though I had to work on a saturday (the joys of working in a hospital...kiss goodbye to your weekends....but hello lots of overtime money!), I still managed to do my usual saturday shopping spree, I actually think I am a shopaholic, but oh well you only live once!

So I now feel compelled to share my shopping haul and the lovely beauty goodies I picked up :)

From Left to Right we have:

  • 2True Liquid Eyeliner from Superdrug - had a quick play with this before, cant say it is anything to rave about, colour wasn't intense and I cant see it lasting all night but for £1.95 what can you expect??

  • Maybelline Ambre Rose Colour Sensation LipStick - OMG my new favourite!! I have read the reviews from many bloggers and I can see why this has got such good reviews, the colour is a gorgeous coral pink, which is very warm and nourishing, quite similar to Barry M 147 lipcolour but not as drying, I LOVE this!!

  • MAC Politely Pink LipStick - A gorgeous soft barely there pink which is perfect for daytime, very soft and warm and easy to wear

  • GOSH Lip Jam in 107 - A new favourite lip gloss!! This is a light pink lip gloss which I have been wearing over MAC's politely pink for a more intense glossy look for the lipstick, I actually think this lip jam is a good dupe for a Lancome Juicy Tube I use to love!

  • The Body Shop's Tantalising Lip Butter - Ever since I saw Lollipop26's review on this product I have been seraching every body shop but to no avail....until today...yay!! And I have to say I have only used it today but I quite like!! I can imagine wearing it over bright intense lipsticks to make the colour more wearable and not as 'harsh'.

I have done a swatch of the lipsticks (with flash), the top swatch is Ambre Rose 113, and below MAC Politely Pink,

And here is a picture of my lips wearing Ambre Rose...I love this sooooo much

And last but not least....a shopping trip is not complete without clothes! Even though I can not cram anything else into my wardrobe...I need a coat and jumper for winter!

I love this coat, I love the buttons and the design and can dress it up or down so definately a must need piece for winter and it is only from H&M! And I picked the jumper up from Oasis, I love chunky knits in winter and plan on wearing this with a long sleeve top underneath with skinny jeans a big leather belt and boots for a stylish warm winter look!
Anyone else been saturday shopping??

Bling, Bling, Bling.......

I have pimped my Blackerry!!

I have seen Jordan and Paris Hilton with diamond encrusted covers for their blackerry and hell, if its good enough for them its damn well good enough for me :)

So I saw this cover on ebay for a mere £10 and got myself some bling!!

I love it......it may be a bit tacky but I dont care i am in love with my blackberry :)
Is it too tacky or can I pull it off 'a la Jordan and Paris style'?

Legs 11.......

Last night my friend asked me.....why do your legs always look so shiny and gorgeous? So my beauty tips for my legs must work haha.....so I thought maybe I would blog my little 'leg routine' to get gorgous soft sexy looking legs.....

Here goes peeps.....

1. Firstly I always shave my legs in the shower and I never use shower cream, my secret beauty weapon is.....hair conditioner! Any hair conditioner will do the trick, FYI I am currently using herbal essences hydration conditioner as I also like the fragrance (another plus instead of using shaving cream!), I lather the conditioner on my legs then shave my legs as usual, this makes your legs sooo soft it is unbelievable!

2. Next as soon as I get out of the shower I use Johnsons Baby Oil on wet skin then pat dry

3. If I am dressing up or getting my legs out then I use MAC strobe cream, I rub a small amount in the palms of my hands then pat over my legs

4. Voila! Your legs will be sexy, as soft as a babys, smooth and has a gorgeous sheen to them!
I have tried to find some pictures that would demonstrate the effect this gives and these are the best I could find!

PS, excuse the horrible cigarette in one picture this was taken last year when I went through a spell of about a week where I decided to try smoking as the girls I was on holiday with smoked.....I wouldn't recommend it girls!!!
This last picture was taken in Ibiza last week.......such a cool and stylish place, the ultimate party island cant wait to go back!

If you want to tone your legs as well, then I really recommend running, this tones my legs up and is the ultimate cellulite buster!!

I hope this gives you all sexy legs.........

Hitting Pan......

I am always interested to see which products people use to the bitter end.....and hit pan! It obviously means its a great product and it works otherwise you wouldn't keep coming back to it time and time again.

So here are a few products that I am currently hitting pan on=

From Left - Right we have=
MAC Well Dressed Blusher - Love this colour, gorgeous soft pink that looks very pretty on my cheeks
Sephora Eyeshadow in Strass 10 = a beige/goldy colour with few gold flecks in! I love to wear this all over the eyelid as a base when i'm going out to give a bit of glamour!
Benefit Thrrob Blusher = Again I think this is a perfect pink blusher that gives you that perfect rosy cheeked look
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer - LOVE LOVE LOVE this! This makes my oily skin matt, makes my make up last alllllllll day long and is an overall skin perfector!!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer - In my opinion THE perfect bronzer, not shimmery or glittery just a perfect post holiday tan in a box!
Benefit Erase Paste - I actually prefer the benefit boing concealer in 02 but this is almost as good, it covers any imperfections and I like the creamy consistency but I do think there are better concealers out there!

Which products do you regularly hit pan on??

Where I store my make up.........

I love seeing how people store their make up, mainly for a nosy and a few ideas hehe so here is my ever expanding make up storage......
This is my 'beauty table' where I like to keep all my favourite and most used products all looking pretty and gorgeous!
I got the box of drawers from Ikea for 7.99, (they come flat packed but dad came to the rescue and put them together!) and painted them cream, and the black 'looking fabulous' box on top is an old shoe box which I store my 'misellaneous' make up items in!
I also have fairy lights dotted around the area for a little 'boudoir' feel!

I like to keep my perfumes on display too, vera wang, chanel, dior and benefit, and I keep my brushes in a little silver pot,

First set of drawers from left to right......eyelash draw, eye shadow draw (a small selection of my most used shadows!!), lipstick draw

All my mascaras, selections of blushers, powders, compacts.....

Foundations, highlighters, concealers etc!
These are all my most used items so they all get pride of place in the cream boxes! everything else goes in the black box, although I think I need more boxes my collection seems to be growing by the second!
I love seeing how you all store your make up....what do you all use?? More ideas welcome please!
I am off to the party isle of IBIZA tonight yay especially looking forward to partying in Space, Eden, Cafe Del Mar etc and even more looking forward to the duty free MAC counter at the airport......i can see a big haul coming up!!!

Lady In Red.......Shopping Haul!

Its my parents silver wedding annivarsary in September and they are having a big party to celebrate....so I guess its a good excuse to buy a gorgeous new dress :)

So today after visiting my lovely grandad in hospital :( I popped into Liverpool One shopping centre, I love the way they are doing up Liverpool City Centre, its a fab city I miss living there so much :(

So firstly I found this gorgeous red dress in Karen Millen, I love the rose detail and the netting underskirt....it was love at first sight!
When buying a new dress you need to think about the whole outfit and that includes make up! So I'm not sure what look I would go for with a red dress as I dont think red lips suit me and I cant think of another lip colour that would compliment the dress......and ideas please??

Before I committed to buying (and being 200 pound down eek!) I decided to have a quick look around and came across this beautiful maxi dress in coast
This was in the sale (good times -95 pound!!) but the size is a 16 (I thought it was a 6 i didnt see the 1 hence why i tried it on!) but my lovely mother is a excellent seamtress in her spare time and can make anything so she would be able to alter the dress so it fits perfectly :)

So now which dress should I go for?? Decisions decisions decisions........

Heres a quick FOTD for my shopping and hospital visit......kept it subte but pretty as you never know which hot doctors will be on the wards (the perks of working in a hospital hehe)
I used Benefit Play sticks in Jump Rope, Benefit 10 and MAC well dressed blush on cheeks, MAC Tempting, and moonstruck eyeshadow and MAC blacktrack fluidline, and Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara

While in Liverpool I also nipped into TJ Hughes, this is a great bargin shop and sometimes have benefit and TIGI, Lancome, L'Oreal, Elizabeth Arden, etc at bargin prices! So today I got TIGI Brunette Goddess shampoo for a bargin 6 quid, and St Moriz Fake tan, I have heard good things about this product so cant wait to see if it lives up to the hype!

I also picked up this litte crop top from Topshop which I plan on wearing in Ibiza next week when I'm clubbing!!! I think it is perfect with a mini skirt, large aviators, statement earrings and dancing all night in the legendary clubs....can you tell i'm excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday I plan on partying (good times) in between working (bad times, esp when creamfields is right near the hospital where i work so got a busy ae shift to look forward to, I should be clubbing at creamfields too not fair!)

Tuesday 25 August 2009

Maybelline Pulse Perfection

I wondered how long it would take for a cheaper version of the vibrating mascaras to hit the shelves.....and eventually it has...welcome Maybelline Pulse Perfection Mascara!

have seen the high end vibrating mascaras and always looked and thought about buying, but always seemed to have changed my mind last minute I just couldn't understand how it is supposed to work and the price tag is a bit too much just for a mascara that vibrates! So when I spotted the Maybelline Pulse Perfection and at £14.99, half the price of its high end suitors, I found myself saying yes please!

So I tried this bad boy out on Saturday night, at first it feels very strange having your mascara vibrate right near your eye, but it seems to work! The brush isn't amazing, but the concept of the vibrations is that it is supposed to work through every single lash lengthening them with minimum effort from you (ie endlessly zig zagging the wand up and down your lashes!), I did find it hard to work the brush into the inner corner lashes, but apart from that after 2 coats my lashes were amazing.....long, volumised and curled! In fact I even got asked if I was wearing false eyelashes.....result!!!!

Here is me (on the left) and my friend at a house party on Saturday night, I loved this mascara so much I even started trying it on all my friends who I converted to vibrating mascara heaven :)

Have you tried this mascara yet or any of the other vibrating mascaras?? what do you think??

Monday 24 August 2009

20 Questions!

I have seen this on a few blogs and thought I would let you all know me a little better by doing one too :)

1. Thing you cannot leave the house without?

My handbag and phone! I love a big WAG style handbag that literally carries my life in it! Car keys, mobile, make up, magazines I carry everything in it!

2. Favourite brand of make up?

I think I own the entire collection of Benefit make up, I just love the packaging and always think the products and colours work well and look gorgeous, but of course I do love MAC too (who couldn't??), for cheaper drug store brands I really like GOSH and Rimmel for essentials.

3. Favourite Flower?

I love tulips and daffodils so pretty and colourful

4. Favourite clothing store?

I love French Connection for dresses and jeans and Topshop for everything! Primark is great for cheap buys, so even if I only wear it once (which I have a bad habit for doing!) then you can still experiment without breaking the bank!

5. Heels or flats?

Heels all the way!! I love the way that I feel so much more glamourous when I wear my heels, even when I'm dressed down in jeans and a tee some heels just glam me up a bit more! I have to wear boring flat comfy shoes all day for work as i'm on my feet all day rushing round, so I love to dress up and feel pretty out of work!

6. Did you make good grades?

Yes I did :) I was a little bookworm at school and got all A and B grades at GCSE, I then passed all my A-Levels and went to university to study Diagnostic Radiography (taking x-rays and scans in case you didnt know!) and managed to gain a 2:1 BSc Honours Degree in between all the partying and drinking uni life brings with it, oh how I miss being a student........

7. Favourite Colours?

Probably your typical girly colours all things pink!

8. Do you drink energy drinks?

Not really, when I was at uni we use to have a student night where it was 2 pound for a double vodka and red bull and i've had one too many hangovers from this stuff that I cant even smell red bull now without feeling a hangover coming on!

9. Favourite perfume?

My all time classic is Chanel Chance, I love the fact that it lasts and lasts and smells really expensive too! I also love Vera Wang Princess and Miss Dior.

10. Do you drink juice?

I love a large glass of fresh orange juice in the morning for a burst of vitamen c to start the day!

11. Do you like swimming?

I'm not the strongest swimmer and probably only go for a swim when i'm on holiday, but i'm a real gym bunny and prefer keeping fit by running!

12. Do you eat fries with a fork?

Depends on the location! In a fast food restaurant its got to be with your hands! But anywhere else it has to be posh and with a fork!

13. Favourite moisturiser?

At the moment I am using Garnier Pure Activ, but I am not very impressed with it, although it mattifies my skin I have had a breakout of spots since using it so am on the lookout for a new moisturiser

14. Do you want to get married later on in life?

Much later on in life I do! I would have the full works big party and even bigger dress! But I am enjoying myself too much at the moment partying with my friends concentrating on my career and planning my travelling trips to even think about settling down, far too boring!!

15. Do you get mad easily?

My mum says that I take after my dad, we both lose our temper very quickly and are very impatient! But i'm very quick to calm down sometimes I just need to let it all out!

16. Are you into Ghost Hunting?

A few months ago, me and my work colleagues went on a ghost hunting trip to a haunted castle where we spent the night with an expert, a few occurences happened which made us all scream and very scared but whether it was real or set up I do not know! But we had a laugh and it was ver good for team bonding, looking forward to the next trip!

17. Any phobias?

Typical spider phobia, the only thing men are good for is getting rid of them! God bless my dad for coming whenever i need him to get rid of the horrible things!! I am hoping to work and travel in Australia next year for a few months so I really need to get over this!!

18. Do you bite your nails?

Only when I am really stressed, I love my nails being in perfect condition with a nice manicure :)

19. Have you ever had a near death experience?

Not yet and hopefully not anytime soon!

20. Do you drink coffee?

Ugh no I cant stand coffee, I wish I did as I would love to sit in starbucks with all my mates having a cappoccino but its a nice cup of english tea for me for all the way!! I cant start my day without a cup of tea!!

Well I hope you all know me a little better know, I look forward to reading all your 20 questions blogs!

This week I got the Model Co Beauty Fix - Airbrush Face, this promises to set and seal your make up, making it smudge proof, tear proof and water resistant!! Anything that promises to make my make up last while i'm dancing all night has got to be a must have me!!

After finishing your make up, you spray this on your face about 10 cms away and hey presto your make up should be smudge proof! So Saturday night all ready for a big night out on the town I decided to try it out, at first it feels a bit strange to spray it on your face but after a while it settled it on my face and I was ready to go!
And I have to say I like this product :) I thought that my make up stayed flawless all night even after a lot of dancing and cocktails, I call it hairspray for your face! I will definately be using this on future nights out, although I do think that it is a bit pricey at 23 pound :(

Thought I would do a quick in and out blog for a monday morning!!

In
- Fat burner lipbalm from hq hair.com, am applying this religiously in the hope that it is suppressing my appetite!

- MAC creme d'nude lipstick, loving nude lips with a golden tan and smoky eyes!
-Only 4 more weeks till I hit the massive clubs of the beautiful island that is Ibiza!
- Model CO Beauty Fix , like hairspray but for your make up! Just spritz on your face after applying make up and this seals it all day :) I''m impressed with it!

Out
-The fact it is a monday morning and i'm working in a&e till 9pm :(
- Holiday tan is fading - need to hit Ibiza sooooooon!
- New Benefit perfumes, had a quick smell of each of the new fragrances but am not impressed B-Spot was the perfect summer fragrance, good job I got it before it got discontinued!

Hope you all had a good weekend x

FOTD and new lipsticks :)

Today I went to my one of my favourite places........The Trafford Centre in Manchester! This is a massive shopping centre with all my favourite shops in one gorgeous location :) Luckily I live about 20 minutes away so I go whenever I can hehe!!

Today I hit the MAC counter as usual and purchased a lipstick i've wanted for a while MAC creme d'nude, I think this looks gorgeous with my holiday tan :) I also wanted the colour craft lipstick but it was sold out :(

I have also heard alot about MACS MSF's but I just dont get what they are?? Are they a blusher, bronzer, powder, shimmer?? Any advice please as I want to get one but not sure how to use it??

I also had a browse of Barry M as I love their lip sticks and got the lip colour 100 which I love, it is a lovely light nude pink with a bit more colour than the 101 so more wearable I think!

On the left is Barry M 100 and the right is MAC creme d'nude:

And a swatch of each- Barry M 100 - Mac Creme d'nude

FOTD - Tried to keep it simple and pretty for a few drinks with friends tonight :)

Benefit Playstick in Jump Rope
Benefit 10 for killer cheekbones!
Benefit Dallas as a blush
The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer

ELF Studio Line!

I love ELF and have been waiting for this line to reach the UK for months!! So as soon as I got back from my holiday I was straight on the internet to place a massive order..........and the verdict is.......I love it!!!

I purchased a few products which are great such as the:-

1. Complexion Perfection which is nice to set make up and even skin tone

2. Lip Primer and Plumper - love the plumper it contains cinnamon which irritates your lips hence making them look fuller, you can feel your lips tingling as soon as you apply this so you can feel it working its magic!

3.Hollywood lashes - I love these! I am a massive false lash fan and the applicator that comes with these lashes makes applying lashes a doddle!! So easy! Plus the lashes are perfect for a night out - full and fabulous and really opens your eyes (look at picture below when I wore these on saturday night!) I also purchased the dramatic effect false lashes from the original line which I also love!

4. Make up remover wipes - tried them out after a big night out on saturday (hence lots of make up) and so far so good removed most traces without too much effort :)

5. Eyeshadow 'C' Brush - Perfect for creating the smoking eye look and blending eyeshadow into the crease of the eye, very easy to use I like it!

6.And lastly my favourite product - Eyeliner and shadow stick - The eyeliner on this is amazing, I used it on saturday night to create a dark smokey eye with a thick almost Amy Winehouse style eyeliner! And it did not budge all night, it was easy to use and I love it!!

Here are some pictures from saturday night (excuse the drunk posing but I think it demonstrates the make up well!!!)
Face - L'Oreal studio secrets primer
Benefit You Rebel Tinted Mosturiser - I am lucky and have skin that tans as soon as step outside so am enjoying being able to not wear as much foundation as I usually do as my skin is tanned from the cruise yay :)
The Balm Bahama Mama Brozer - love this not glittery and not orange! Quite similar to Benefit Hoola
Benefit 10 on the cheeks
MAC Well Dressed Blush
Benefit High Beam - the best highlighter there is! Dabbed onto the cheekbones and under the brow bone
Benefit High Brow and Brow Pencil to create perfect brows!
Lips - ELF Studio Lip Plumper
Barry M Lip paint 101
Clarins Instant Light Lipgloss
Benefit Cupids Bow - perfect for defining your lips
Eyes - Barry M dazzle dust in Gold Irridescent 027
Barry M dazzle dust in Black 066 in the crease and lash line
ELF Studio Liner in Black along upper and lower lash line and winged out in the outer corner
ELF Studio Hollywood Lashes
Gosh Bananas Liner in the inner corner to really open your eyes!
As you can see I went for a very dark smokey look with the eyes, and so kept the lips nude. I love smokey eyes it is my statement look for partying nights out :)

OOTN was a little black dress from French Connection, this is my fail safe dress i can wear to anything and as I hadn't had time to shop I had no new dress shock horror haha! I dressed it with a belt from Miss Selfridge and killer nude heels from Faith and a little black cardigan as it was freeeeeeezing in manchester!!!!!
I also had my new tan leather Chanel Bag :)))))))
Have any of you tried ELF Studio yet?? What are your thoughts and recommendations??
Hope you all had a nice weekend am currently on nights so off to bed now for me all day!! night night!! xxx

Holiday Haul!

I have just returned from an amazing cruise around the greek islands and Turkey, and as usual I made a few beauty purchases!!

Firstly before we even left for the airport our bag was overweight so I removed my make up bag and suddenly the bag was underweight....hmmm think that might be trying to tell me something!!

I love airport shopping and love taking advantage of the tax free beauty products! Firstly I found Girls Aloud Lashes in a special pack exclusive for airport shopping, I love Girls Aloud Lashes so I grabbed this and I also picked up the eyelure falsh lash adhesive which I tried on holiday and found that it lasted it all night so it almost beats MAC glue for staying power!!

I love these lashes especially Cheryls as they give a really full on look without looking 'too much' and Nicholas give a really pretty look, the only ones I am not keen on are Sarahs as they look too full on and very fake!

I also purchased BeneFit 10 powder, I absolutely love this product and this is the 3rd time I have bought it as I use it sooooo much!! It gives me defined, killer cheekbones and looks gorgeous day or night. I cant say enough nice things about this product :)

While we were cruising, the second island we called at was Rhodes and while exploring the island I found my favourite shop in the entire world..........Sephora (why oh why do we not have this shop in the UK???)

This is me outside Sephora I heart it :)

I was very good though as I only purchased a few little items (mainly as I was being rushed!!).

So I picked up.......
(From Left - Right)

1. Sephora Make up corrector pen - this is supposed to remove any make up mistakes you make, thought it would come in handy for touching up eyeliner mistakes!

2. Sephora Make up brush shampoo - this is great for cleaning your brushes it is anti bacterial too so your brushes get a really good clean, I always find that if i've not cleaned my brushes for a while that I start to get spots (and my skin isn't the best anyway so need to look after it!) so I religiously clean my brushes now!

3. Sephora nail colour in 02 Beige - this makes a lovely base coat for a french manicure, I love nice manicured nails, as I work in a Hospital I cant have acrylic nails but I can jsut about get away with a french manicure which I always do myself :)
Here is a quick manicure I just did with my new nail polish just 2 coats and a lick of white polish on the tips! Who needs an expensive manicurist??

Thats it from my holiday for now, am currently loving my tan and the way I can get away without foundation yay, hope your all having a good weekend! xxx

Eyelash Enhancement Products

When I was in America a few months ago everywhere I went I saw these eyelash enhancement products that claimed to make your eyelashes grow longer. As an addict of falsh eyelashes I was very intrigued so I spent a small fortune, firstly on Talika Liposils ($40) and a few months later I moved on to Enormous Lash which was considerably more expensive!

This was about 4 months ago and I am disappointed to report that I haven't noticed much of a difference :(

I used Talika Liposils first for a while and I did notice that my lashes were stronger as they didnt drop out esp when I use to really rub my eyes when taking make up off, and they were slightly longer so I would give this products a thumbs up :) but after spending close to $100 on enormous lash I was expecting good results but after 3 months continuous use now there is no difference!

I have heard good things about other products such as Lilash, but am reluctant to spend so much money again on a product that doesn't work, so if anyone has used these products and they have worked I would love to know!

L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer

While browsing in Boots yesterday I saw this little pot by the L'Oreal Professional line, which claims to be a 'smoothing resurfacing primer'. I am always on the lookout for a primer which smoothes my skin and makes my make up stay on a treat! So I purchased and after trying it out last night.......I love it!!

As you can see in the pictures the primer is a bit like a thick sticky glue (doesnt sound appealing I know) but when applied to skin, it really did what it promised my skin felt so smooth and soft and my foundation just glided on my skin.....better still after dancing all night my foundation and make up still managed to stay on all night and I put it down to this little pot!!

After trying many different primers such as Smashboxx, Benefit, Mac etc this is the best one I have tried!
